Sustainability is also an important competitive advantage for companies in the tourism industry, as tourists and partners increasingly favour sustainable destinations and actors. Sustainable travel Finland
In order for the tourism industry to be able to meet changing demand and continue to grow, its development must be sustainable. To this end, Visit Finland has developed the Sustainable Travel Finland program for tourism companies and regions and the Sustainable Travel Finland label that companies can achieve when participating in it.
Principles of sustainable tourism
During the spring of 2019, Visit Finland, together with various stakeholders, updated the national principles regarding sustainable tourism. Guidelines that have emerged in the international debate were also taken into account in the process.
